One of the problems with the modern world is the chance that debt problems will rear their ugly head at some point; this situation can affect even individuals who are careful with their finances. A po…
Here is my issue….
It’s my cousin’s wedding. We live in NJ and the wedding is in Florida. My finance won’t fly on a plane. We can afford the plane ticket ($126 roundtrip), but we CANNOT afford to drive like he wants to.
He refuses to go if we can’t drive. Well…we can’t drive. I said I am going to matter what b/c it’s family. My finance is really really mad b/c he said if he doesn’t go I shouldn’t go. He is basically telling me I can’t go unless he does.
I am a very independant. I do not like men telling me what I can and can’t do. I really want to go to my family’s wedding.
Should I not go b/c he doesn’t want to fly or should I go anyway. He thinks he is more important than my family.
What would you do and what do you think the right thing to do is? I need some good advice.
Thanks. Sorry so long.
All test, eeg; MRI; ekg; are all ok. Am under lot of stress, husband w/Alzheimer’s, son who tends be suciadal and can’t get disibality, helping support him and daughter’s family and finances getting very low!
For this scenario’s sake, assume that you can provide your children and the TV store as much money as they need, and you have strong influence on the interest rate of your son’s debt obligations. Also, keep in mind that you also have 20,000 of your own debt and are borrowing money from powerful people in your family.
Here’s the scenario:
Your 7$ per hour job having, materialistic, rebellious son borrows 600 from your 15$ per hour job, entreprenuerial son. Your troubled son uses that 600 to finance a 1200 TV. So he turned a 600 dollar loan into 1800 dollars of debt plus the interest set by his lending brother, but has a nice TV that his entreprenuerial brother told him will surely increase in value due to it’s special features and size.
My questions is : who do you blame? and, as the daddy of these children, what is your first course of action to solve this problem?
I am getting ready to buy a home and land from a family member, through owner financing. The land and house currently has an existing mortgage, what will happen if the owner dosent pay the existing mortgage? Im not sure how owner financing works.
thanks
or do you think it is both persons’ jobs to do that? For example if you get married do you think he should be the one that has his own place and a career so you will be taken care of, or is that something that both of you should plan together as to where to live and how to split the finances?
Oh I definitely think that both should contribute to finances and to housework and raising kids. I’m a modern man, thats what my view is. But if couples decide mutually that one is gonna mostly provide the money while the other mostly take care of house work and children, then I have no problems with that. I have a problem with people thinking that its a man’s job to be the bread winner and a woman’s job to be house wife.
It is raw land, with zoning for 8 single family houses allowed.Estimated development costs with the land are 2.8 million with comparables of 475k to 500k per unit(3.8 to 4 million). The site is located just outside NYC.
I had reminded people of my policy of a 2 week notice on all planned absences. Any unplanned absences for the week you would have to pay for. I have to have some sort of notice to get my own finances in order & take another child in their place. Well one of the parents that never takes off asks me why I started doing this & told her that it’s always been a policy you just never take off of work. Then she proceeds to tell me that I should have a curriculm. I charge her $120 a week since I felt bad for her family not having a lot of money to take on some other parents responsibility. I live in WI & this is WAY under what I could be getting. I could get this for 1 child a week. These children have all kinds of activities available. I NEVER claimed to be a teacher. I broke it down and these children are here for 10 hrs. a day. I’m working for $2.40 an hour not for just 1 child but that is for both. I’m thinking about telling her to go somewhere else. Do you think I’m being unreasonable?
With corn, soybean and wheat prices all rising, and transportation costs up from record oil prices, food makers have passed some of it to consumers.
Have you felt the sting? What measures will you take?
