Open Question: I need to finance a car…??

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I need to finance a car rather quickly and the most i will be able to put down is `$500. The other problem i have is that i do not have any credit and the guy at the dealership said with no cosigner(my dad can’t because of credit problems and no one else in my family is willing to) i only have a 10% chance of getting the loan from the bank based solely on the no credit history…I make about fifteen hundred a month minimum and can afford an average payment on a used car….If anyone has a bank that would be helpful in the situation i would really appreciate it. Thanks so much:)
I also wanted to mention that because i work at a car dealership i get a very wonderful discount on a car…the one i am trying to buy is a mitsubishi eclipse which with my discount is down to six thousand with only fifty thousand miles on it….if it doesn’t work kia really does have some nice new options…
but i don’t want a new car…i am looking in used
My quote on a monthly payment is at $200/month…this was with my job history and debt to income ratio…

Open Question: Sick kitten, with a sibling who died?

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

We are taking care of a mother cat, thinking with shelter and food for her delivery of her kittens. All was well but one kitten at three weeks of age began to not eat, and mother began to refuse her. The kitten had a strange bowel movement which was orange in color and it died within about 1 day, plus a few hours. Three days later, another kitty falls ill and we are trying to help it and prevent others from dying. We cannot get this little family to a vet, as our finances cannot support the bill, and I very much wish we could. Is there something I can do for them at home? Does anyone have a suggestion on what this could be? I have a phone call into a friend who used to be a foster home for cats, so I am hoping she can help. But in the mean time, I’d appreciate any advice thank you.
Please, no fanatical animal lovers shaming me for not giving up cash for their care—–I don’t have it…….and also, please no cruel answers from those of you who hate cats. I am just trying to take care of some little kittens in the best way that I can. Hoping someone can offer advice.

Open Question: I work for a small Doctor’s office, how do I take a leave of absence and protect my job?

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I am one of 4 full time employees at a small doctor’s office in CA. Because of the small size of the office, my employer does not fall under FMLA or California Family Rights Act. My husband has recently returned from a 545 day tour in Afghanistan. Understandably, besides the re-intergration into our family, because he saw a lot of combat and was injured (not severely) my husband has moderate PTSD with a traumatic brain injury. He is NOT the same man that left 2 years ago. We have a 5 yr old beginning kindergarten next month. While I am physically sound, I am emotionally and spiritually drained and find it extrememly hard to concentrate at work. However, our finances are such that I cannot lose my job. I have already attempted to request a modified work schedule with me working 4 vs. 5 days a week. This was denied. Does anyone know of any federal or state laws that would allow me to take a leave of absence (paid or unpaid) without jeopardizing my employment?

Open Question: Migrating to Australia from USA - How does my credit record affect my application?

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I am moving out of the USA and will immigrate to Australia. The economy in the USA is just so terrible.

I lodged my application back in Feb ‘08 and am just waiting for the results.

Can someone advise how my credit record / score in the USA can affect my application?

Im leaving behind 2 properties which will be foreclosed/abandoned. I lost the $200k equity that I already put in because the home values dropped by 50% already. I have no energy to even try and do a short-sale (no buyers anyway) or even to re-finance (cant afford it and dont want it anymore).

My credit record will now show delinquent mortgage payments for the last 3 or 4 months & home loan balances of about $250k.

Will Aussie migration officers pull out my credit record and take this against me?

Half of the middle class & maybe most of the lower class families in the USA are having mortgage problems anyway, with many just walking away from their homes.

Any comments will be appreciated.
